Uganda has one of the youngest populations in the world. As many as 49% of its inhabitants are younger than 15 years old, and they have an extensive need for education.

Design without Borders is collaborating with UNICEF Uganda on the project Rugged Solar Powered Information Kiosks. The projects involves setting up ICT solutions for different local community organizations, such as youth clubs.

The villagers are provided with computer access and an opportunity to communicate with the government, organizations and other local communities.

In India, the establishing of ICT solutions in poorer areas has proved a great success.
